In 2014 Chris along with his father, Graham, and brother, Eric, formed the Kastendike Insurance Group to partner with MDP to expand our operation into a new Baltimore County location. Chris came over from Diversified Insurance Inc., and, before that, was at AllRisks where he made President’s Club, their top sales award, for three straight years. Chris was selected to attend US Lloyds of London Broker Syndicate Program (1 of 10 in the country in 2010) and also selected as a top “30 under 30” business professional in 2012.
Chris grew up in Baltimore attending St. Paul’s School before heading off to Elon University for a business degree. He followed that with an MBA from Towson University. Chris’ passion for learning and desire to refine his craft translates to a continuous pursuit of industry specific education. He has earned many designations including Associate Underwriter (AU), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI), Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Chris is active in the community as a member of the Insurance Roundtable of Baltimore, a Board Member of The William S. Baer School, the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust Golf Co-Chair, and a past Cystic Fibrosis Committee Member. His wife, Ashlee, and he have two daughters, Bella and Blakely. Chris loves to fish, hunt, travel, and watch the Ravens.
Galveston Historical Foundation once struggled to find insurance representatives who not only appreciated historic buildings and vessels, but also understood the complexities of owning and managing these valuable treasures. This confidence allows us to do what we do — interpreting and stewarding these nationally recognized historic properties—and MDP and NTIS to do what they do—service a customer with loyalty and an eye for cost efficient insurance coverage.
