Leigh came to Maury Donnelly & Parr as a broker in 1980 after attending the University of Maryland. He took over as President and CEO in 2001 from Tom Parr, the last family member in the line of the original founders. Leigh has our second longest tenure and has taken the company from around 16 employees 10 years ago to the 75+ we have now. His client base ranges from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofits to personal insurance for families. He can count oil and gas transportation, broadcast media, education, and nonprofits among his diverse specialties.
Leigh has always been active in the community. He has volunteered for countless charitable organizations, served on many boards, and been highly involved in politics, including sitting on the Executive Finance Committee during Governor Ehrlich’s administration. He is a past board member of Boys Latin School, The Freven Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, and The Odyssey School. A Baltimore native and Boys Latin graduate, Leigh is an avid Ravens fan, hunter, antique car enthusiast, and dog lover. He lives with his wife, Holly, in Ruxton and has four daughters, Courtney, Laura, Elizabeth, and Alexandra.
Galveston Historical Foundation once struggled to find insurance representatives who not only appreciated historic buildings and vessels, but also understood the complexities of owning and managing these valuable treasures. Following Hurricane Ike in 2008, MDP and the National Trust Insurance Services proved their value and commitment. We now enjoy almost ten years of service and have the confidence of a comprehensive insurance package that we review annually. This confidence allows us to do what we do — interpreting and stewarding these nationally recognized historic properties—and MDP and NTIS to do what they do—service a customer with loyalty and an eye for cost efficient insurance coverage.
